Merseyside Cycling Development Group (MCDG) proud to announce Dolan Bikes will sponsor Merseyside Star Trophy Competitions


Ormskirk based British cycle designer and builder Terry Dolan of Dolan Bikes Ltd will sponsor for 2014, 2015 and 2016 three of the Star Trophy Competitions which were first started in 1973. For the first time a Youth A riders Competition will be run as well as the usual Senior and Junior Competitions.

All three competitions are open to competitors of members of affiliated clubs/teams in the Merseyside Area of the British Cycling North West. In addition, to make it more interesting, competitors in these competitions are limited to a maximum of their six best positions in the listed qualifying events for their category of competition in this series each year.

The Star Trophy Season Long Points Competitions for Senior, Junior and Youth A Competitors

THE COMPETITION
This prestigious competition was first introduced in 1973 and is a season long points competition for Senior, Junior and Youth A Competitors in Clubs/Racing Teams within the Merseyside area of the British Cycling North West Region.

CONDITIONS
1 The competitions are a season-long and for 2014 they will be sponsored by and shall be known as: The Dolan Bikes Star Trophy Competitions

2. The competitions is open to members of affiliated clubs/racing teams in the Merseyside area of the British Cycling North West Region.

3. Allocation of qualifying events will be decided annually by the Series Coordinator.

4. All events listed on the schedules are eligible, but riders in these competitions are limited to their best  six places.

5. For each event missed due to selection for Regional or National Teams, qualifying riders will be awarded points equivalent to 6th place (see table below). It is the responsibility of riders to claim these points by notifying the Series Coordinator, in writing before the final event in each of the competitions.

6. In those qualifying events listed for the Junior Star Trophy Competition when senior categories are included, only junior riders will qualify for points.  National B/Regional C+ events where Elite riders are eligible to ride and the distance is over 60 kms  the first six Juniors finishing within the first twenty places of the overall result of the event will be eligible for points. When the event is under 60 kms only the first three juniors will gain points finishing within the first twelve places of the overall result.  In Regional A events the first three juniors finishing within the first ten places of the overall result will count for points in this competition. For Regional B events only the first three juniors finishing within the first six places of the overall result of the event will be eligible for points in this competition.

7. Prize values will be presented at the conclusion of the competition, the date and location will be advised.
