The race, which starts in just under two weeks time, has grown in stature over the past ten years, and the anniversary edition looks set to be another hugely popular and hard fought event, with five World Tour Pro teams, and five other international professional teams set to take part.

In the previous two editions the Men In Black have been highly visible in the race, twice taking home the Skoda King of the Mountains titles, through Jonathan Tiernan Locke and Kristian House respectively. For this year’s edition, team manager John Herety has selected a team that blends youth an experience, and which he expects will once again be capable of animating the racing.

“The Tour of Britain is the biggest race of the year for us, and so we come here well prepared and highly motivated, of course. It is also physically one of the harder challenges for the young guys we’ve got and a different style of racing that is a lot more controlled and organised than they are used to. We know that because of the standard of the racing and the level of the guys who will be trying to win this race, that our ambitions will be directed towards gaining our team, sponsors and our riders the maximum exposure.”

“That means being aggressive and seeking out the breakaways, as Kristian did so well last year, making sure that we are a part of the racing and looking for that elusive stage win, that we would love to take. I’ve picked a team that I think reflects that ambition, and also gives us the opportunity to ‘blood’ some very young riders.”

The race will indeed give the young riders in Rapha Condor JLT a great opportunity to prove themselves at the very highest level, but with riders of the calibre of former National Road Champion Kristian House, as well as this years Tour of Korea winner Mike Cuming, the Men In Black will certainly have the firepower to be a part of the action throughout.

The team for the race will be:
Kristian House
Richard Handley
Mike Cuming
Felix English
Luke Mellor
Hugh Carthy

Reserve: Will Stephenson
