Ben Sumner, Matt Heath & Francesca Morgens-Slade winners at round 3 of the CC London Crit Series

The 3rd and final races in the series were held on June 15th at the Hog Hill circuit. The Womens race saw some very spirited racing and was rewarded at the midway point by a RAF fly past which included a Lancaster Bomber and The Red Arrows. Francesca Morgens-Slade went on to take the win from Cassie McGoldrick.

The 3/4 race saw the introduction of the ‘dog leg’ turn – so familiar to the Vets racers. The field started to fragment as it began to rain heavily – retirements and a crash during the last knockings of the race reduced the number of finishers to 16. Matt Heath stayed upright to take the win.

The on/off rain turned into a deluge for the E/1/2/3 race. This did not deter Ben Sumner who rode off alone and lapped the entire field with the one exception of lone chaser Gunther Zechmann.
