The imperious Protech Velo foursome, with Shaun Tyson, Jamie Ruddell, Graham Thompson and Brian Ward handed out some solid lessons in team time trialing technique and speed to their lesser rivals on the sporting 24-mile loop round Scorton, North Yorkshire.

Posting a time of 53 minutes and 58 seconds, they had an anxious wait before the finish of the Briganti boys, riding off scratch, shot passed the chequered board. But they needn’t have worried, the clocks showing a whopping 1 min, 19 seconds deficit for the toiling trio of Matthew Kipling, Rick King and Chris Peareth.

Topping off the podium was Fietsen Tempo 1 a further 24 seconds adrift with father and son duo Colin and Elliot Holt aided by Phil Speight and Phil Wheatley. The greedy Protech boys also bagged the handicap prize, and posted the fastest time on the Atley Hill Super Prime, netting a nice £475 into their skinsuit aero pockets.

Fastest of the Junior teams were the Manilla Boys (Matthew Best, Lewis Anderson, Tom Sailes and Ethan Senyurek) , in 1 hr:01:41 just 58 seconds too good for the Ryedale-Richmond Junior team. First mixed team was Cleveland Triathlon in 1 hr:13:17 with Tony Main, Jen Milsom, Andy Petford and Jenny Wilkie.
