Crit Result: Will Houghton Circuit Race

Due to lack of official marshall’s, the race was run at Hillingdon circuit instead of as a road race at Oakley. Hillingdon was where Will Houghton raced here many times.

It was a very hot day for both the men’s & women’s races (see this page ) were completed without incidents and enjoyed by all. The Men’s Will Houghton Circuit Race was a very hot and fast race from the off! Eight riders broke away just before halfway in the 40 lap circuit race. That group was then whittled down to five, with Matthew Conner, Tom Springket, George Mitchell, Bryce Mathewson & Matthew Wright. These five worked well together and didn’t look like they’d get caught. Matthew Conner out-sprinted Tom Springket to take the win from the five away. Robin Mould took the bunch sprint for 6th place.

The organiser says “A huge thank you to all our official helpers and those wonderful volunteers, without them the races could not of gone ahead. All profits from the race go to The Will Houghton Foundation.”
