News: AG2R Citroen U19 Team Recruiting

For the 2022 season, juniors riders, French and those from abroad, can apply to AG2R Citroen U19 Team, by completing an online questionnaire. The team is composed of 16 riders. Half of it is renewed each season.

An international calendar

Being in the team allows the rider to live an experience in a well-structured team which is unique in France. Foreign riders have the choice to live in their country and home, or to study and live in France with a foster family.

The race calendar of the team is international. The riders will discover international and prestigious races such as Paris Roubaix Juniors, Gent Wevelgem, GP Rüebliland, Tour de Haute Autriche or La Philippe Gilbert. The riders participate in several training camps during the school holidays when it’s possible. They share training camps and races with the other riders, and can learn about other cultures, and another way of living.

AG2R CITROËN U19 TEAM is part of the formation project of AG2R CITROËN TEAM. Since 2017, two teams are part of this project, the U23 and U19 and there are exchanges and links between the teams and a  common training platform.

Who can apply ?

The group is only composed of juniors but some youths riders can integrate it as trainee during their 2nd season in that category. So It is advisable to apply from 16 years. Riders must be of international standard, or tend towards it. All type of riders interest us as we want our team each year to be the most complete possible, composed of sprinters,  puncheurs, climbers and all round riders.

6 foreign riders in 2021

The team exists for 12 years. It’s in 2019 that the first foreign rider arrived in AG2R CITROEN U19 TEAM. In 2021, we are proud to have six foreign riders in the team. We have three English riders with Maximilian Cushway, Benjamin Peatfield and Joe Kiely, two Belgium riders with Maxence Place and Noah Detalle and Abel Odon Rosado Novillo, the first Spanish rider of the team.

The key dates

Applications must be submitted before August 15, 2021. The selection will take place at the end of September 2021, to give all riders time to be able to race correctly
