The Otley Town Centre races the only round of the Elite Circuit Series left after Sheffield, Barnsley, Colne and Midlands have sadly been cancelled as British Cycling updates on National Series events

News: Circuit Series Rounds Cancelled

Friday saw British Cycling provide an update on the 2021 National Road Series events. They say “Due to local factors and the ongoing challenges associated with Covid-19, we regret to announce that the National Circuit Series rounds in Sheffield (14 July), Barnsley (July 7), Colne (20 July) and the Midlands (30 July) have been cancelled”.

At this stage, the round set to take place in Otley (30 June) will proceed as planned and British Cycling is investigating the possibility of adding a new round into both the men’s and women’s series.

In addition to this, Round 8 of the National Road Series, which was due to take place in the South of England (Isle of White), will no longer take place as the organiser has cancelled the event (no reasons given).

On the subject of the 2021 National Road Championships, British Cycling says it will make an announcement in the coming weeks but they did confirm the event will be moved from its current position in the calendar (24-27 June) to later in the year.
