News: Entries Required for Dudley GP & Women’s Omnium

Entries are required for the fourth round of the British Cycling men’s endurance league, the Dudley GP on June 11, and the third round of the BC women’s omnium series being held as part of the same meeting at the Halesowen Velodrome.

“We are doing quite well with entries for the men’s event, although more would be welcome, particularly from riders who are high up the standings,” said Halesowen chair Dave Viner, “but we are short of entries for the women’s omnium.”

Halesowen velodrome is handily placed just off the M5 off the west side of Birmingham, making it easy to access from many areas of the UK. “The last time we ran this meeting in 2015, it was a great occasion with a lot of interest and we are dead keen to make this as good,” said Viner.

As well as the women’s omnium and the 16km scratch race for the Billy Jones memorial trophy which will carry endurance league points, Halesowen are offering a full programme of support events for the men. “We’ve also had a strong entry from the masters, so with their national championship coming up a couple of weeks after our’s, if there is enough interest we will include a stand-alone master’s race,” said Viner.
