Fourth for Lewis Oliva in the Keirin the best result for Wales on final day of Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Los Angeles. Lewis Oliva came agonisingly close to the podium in Los Angeles as he finished fourth in the keirin.

Earlier in the day Rachel James qualified 13th in the women’s sprint, stopping the clock at 11.328. She advanced over Deborah India, in the 1/16 finals and was drawn against Germany’s Hinze in the 1/8 finals. Hinze progressed to the quarterfinals with her win over James, with Kristina Vogel eventually taking gold.

The final event of the weekend, the men’s Madison, saw Team USN’s Jon Mould and Sam Harrison take to the boards together. They took five sprint points early on in the 120km race, but Ireland’s English and Downey dominated taking two laps and the gold medal. Mould and Harrison finished 9th.

For the Great Britain Cycling Team Elinor Barker raced in the Madison with Ellie Dickinson, where the pairing took 5th. Barker then returned to the track for the Scratch race where she reached the podium to take bronze, Great Britain’s only medal of the weekend
