Quiz Time! Harrison Dainty (Fensham Howes MAS Design Junior Team )

Winner of stage 1 in the 360 Junior North West Tour in 2024, Harrison Dainty did well as a first year junior last season with several podiums and good performances in races abroad and has plenty of goals for 2025 with his team Fensham Howes MAS Design Junior Team

Q: How long have you been racing?
Harrison: I’ve always been a big fan of cycling since I was very young watching the Tour de France with my dad so I was racing bikes as soon as I was allowed to. I started racing all the way back in under 8s and never looked back!

Q: What team are you racing for in 2025 and what is special about being part of such a strong team?
Harrison: In 2025 I will be once again be riding for Fensham Howes MAS Design. This will be my second year on the team and looking forward to be racing with some new teammates. I’m honoured to be part of such a strong team and a great atmosphere for another year.

Q: How’s the winter training going?
Harrison: The winter training has gone great except for a bit of illness a couple weeks ago. I’m looking forward to get stuck into the early season races like Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne and hopefully get some results on the board.

Q: What results are you most proud of from your cycling career so far?
Harrison: The results I’m most proud I would have to say is my 3rd place on one of the stages at Konitch as it was my first of hopefully many big results abroad. Other than that, I’d have to say my win on stage 1 at the North West Tour as it’s always nice to get your arms in the air.

My racing highlight of 2024 would have to be racing Eroica in Italy. Even though I didn’t get the result I wanted while I was there, I really enjoyed the race and it was probably my favourite junior race I did. Hopefully I can get some good results there in 2025.

Q: What race was the toughest in 2024?
Harrison: Surprisingly, the race I found the hardest was the stage at the motor racing circuit in Junior Tour of wales. The rain and the constant cross winds really made that a grim one.

What’s the first junior race in 2025?
Harrison: I will be starting my season at the Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne on 2nd of March. I’m looking forward to racing KBK as I didn’t get to do it last year and will be good to get stuck into races as a second year.

Q: What event in 2025 is the one you are looking forward to most?
Harrison: I’m most looking forward to doing Erocia again as it’s a big race, been a nations cup and has a great route.

Q: Finally, who are the key people who are helping you progress in the sport of cycling?
Harrison: A lot of people at the team have helped me in so many ways. Giles for giving me so many opportunities and running the team and Sonja for looking after us at races. Also the sponsors have been super generous and helped us out massively with bikes, kit, clothing etc. Also, the volunteers that help out during races making sure bikes all working correctly and handing out bottles at the feed. Finally I wouldn’t have been able to get this far without my parents helping me through the years to get to the point I am today.

Good luck in 2025 Harrison!
