Startlist: RCR Portsdown Classic Road Race (February 9)

Just over a week before the first road race of 2025, the second running of the Portsdown Classic near Portsmouth on February 9 with a stacked field including the rider who was third last year Rowan Baker who also won the East Cleveland Classic National Road Series race. Ryedale Grand Prix winner (National Road Series) Tom Williams, racing for Romanian/Italian team monzon incolor gub, is also on the startlist.

Former Perfs Pedal winner Jacob Vaughan is another ‘name’ on the startlist who’s been warming up in cyclocross this winter. There are so many other potential winners like Dom Jackson, William Truelove, Archie Peet, Sam Nisbet, Thomas Heal, Thomas Doig, Tom Couzens, Clay Davies and many more. A fast and furious race is assured in this short season opener which is expected to be quite aggressive with teams (units) no longer making an impact on controlling the racing.

The race consists of 5 full laps of the course used by the Perfs Pedal before it was stopped (the finish is different). Distance is 45 miles.
