Q: Are you still at school?
OSCAR: I am currently in my second year of A levels

Q: Does school restrict the training at all?
OSCAR: Luckily I can be flexible with schoolwork so it’s not too much of an issue.

Q: Is that pic on Instagram warm weather training?
OSCAR: Yes; the picture was taken near Sierra Nevada. I’m currently on a training camp getting away from the constant rain and ice back home

Q: What is the training like for you now – base work or structured efforts?
OSCAR: For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been ramping up the intensity and now into threshold and above

Q: As a junior rider, how many hours a week approx would you do during the winter?
OSCAR: For most of the winter, I have been around 15-20 hours per week with some bigger weeks and also a couple of easy ones.

Q: How much of the training do you do indoors in Winter?
OSCAR: I only really get on the turbo when there is snow and ice so not very often.

Q: Who is your coach at trainSharp?
OSCAR: Jon Sharples is my coach.

Q: When do you expect your season to start in 2025?
OSCAR: My season will start in mid March with some international racing.

Q: Does that mean racing some senior races in between Junior events.
OSCAR: I’m not planning on any senior racing in the early season, but will get stuck in to some Nat Bs if there are any big gaps between main goals.

Q: What events in 2025 are the ones you are looking forward to most?
OSCAR: I’m looking forward to more international races in 2025, especially the French stage races in the summer.

Q: What were your racing highlights in 2024?
OSCAR: My highlights from 2024 include 11th at Cicle classic, 5th at Cadence National, 15th on GC at Wales and an open TT win at Goodwood.

Q: What result are you most proud of so far in your racing career?
OSCAR: I’m most proud of 5th at Cadence National Series RR, my second junior race and a long day in the break.

Q: Did you race abroad last season? If so, an exciting adventure and learning experience?
OSCAR: I did two races abroad last year and I didn’t get a result at either unfortunately. It was definitely a big learning curve for the team so we’ll be more prepared this season.

Q: Finally, are there key people who are helping you progress in the sport of cycling?
OSCAR: The key people helping me progress are my parents, Jon, everyone at TrainSharp and Derangi

thanks Oscar… much appreciated and good luck in 2025!
