Report/Result: Will Houghton Women’s Team Cup Race & Mens race
Hillingdon Circuit, 1st September

For another year, the Will Houghton Men’s Road Race was at the Hillingdon Circuit, on a hot sunday afternoon. A 44 lap race would prove to be a tough and hot race. At around halfway, six riders managed to break clear of the bunch, including a strong looking Mohammad Ganjkhanioa from the Reading CC. They eventually lapped the main field which also had two groups which made it difficult for the race commissaire, luckily we had race transponders!

The six man group dropped one rider and the five remaining battled it out for the sprint finish. In first place was Mohammad Ganjkhanioa, second place was Matthew Wright and Thrid Alan Jay. Bob Mcglue impressively managed to hang on to his sixth place after being dropped from the main break.

Ladies Team Cup Race 2024
We had an exciting race at Hillingdon for the Team Cup finale hosted by Scott and Helen Holmes on behalf of the Will Houghton Memorial foundation. London Academy Orange Race Team headed by Sasha Dyke and Katy Hill triumphed in a lone breakaway to take 1st and 2nd and elevated their position from 6th to 3rd place. Billy Oliver’s FTP-Fulfill The Potential Racing Team retained the overall BWTC lead boosted by Katherine Sheridan taking 3rd place in yesterday’s race.

The winning teams for the Will Houghton event were:
1. London Academy Orange Race Team 356
2. FTP-Fulfil The Potential-Racing 204
3. Loughborough Lightning 194
