Events: Halesowen Friday Track Nights

Less than four weeks out and Friday night track racing on the 400m outdoor track at Halesowen’s Manor Abbey stadium is ready to roll with the support of main sponsors Mapei UK Ltd. We will be running 10 evenings of track racing from May 3 until July 5, branded as “Halesowen Friday race nights”, starting at 7pm. There will be overall standings for the 10 events as in the past for all categories.

Entries will be on the day only, with a substantial discount for registered riders: Senior £10, youth £5. Non registered riders: Senior £15, youth £8. Freewheelers: £3 registered or not.

Racing will see the return of the “Freewheelers” youth category for younger riders who do not use fixed wheel track bikes. Category B and Youth 1 and 2 will race four events per night; Category A will race three longer events, with British Cycling national ranking points awarded for two of their races. The traditional “long finale” race will close each evening and will be run again over a distance between 30 and 40 laps for categories A and B and Youth 1, but will not carry BC ranking points.

There will be cash prizes for one or two races on the night at organisers’ discretion. Minimum prize value for the overall standings across the series will be £1500 for which many thanks to our sponsors Mapei UK Ltd.
