Tour de Yorkshire winner in 2019 Chris Lawless, is to join Britain’s leading cycling team, Saint Piran Pro Cycling (UCI Conti) as a Directeur Sportif (DS).

UK’s leading professional cycling team Saint Piran Pro Cycling is thrilled to announce the signing of Chris Lawless who will be joining as a Directeur Sportif (DS). Lawless’s arrival is the latest step in a strategic plan championed by team owner Ricci Pascoe, with a strong focus on staff and rider development.

Ricci Pascoe, founder and team owner of Saint Piran said: “If we go back 18 months, our first signing to move onto the World Tour was former Saint Piran performance coach, Liam Holohan.

Ricci continued: “Our philosophy is that great performances on the road are achieved through developing a quality team behind the scenes. Cycling is a multi-faceted sport – coaching, nutrition, race planning, media, logistics, and more. Our aim is to create opportunity in each of these areas.”

Lawless, who nearly joined Saint Piran last year before a stint with Lotto Dstny, impressed the team with his desire to contribute in a team environment. “Chris’s passion for sharing his world-class knowledge and collaborating with our existing staff is a perfect fit for our culture. We’re delighted to welcome him to the Saint Piran family.” Pascoe adds.

Chris Lawless said: “Being more of a senior rider within both teams that I rode for last year, with more responsibility, made me realise how much I enjoy helping get the most out of other riders. Being a DS at Saint Piran will be a great place for me to show this and help the team continue on from the success that it has already had!”
