Bike News: DJ Spoony’s Special & unique Ribble Ultra SL R

Ribble Cycles has collaborated with DJ Spoony to create a unique Special Edition Ultra SL R and shortly after DJ Spoony fronted 30 Years of Garage at this year’s MOBO Awards, his new bike arrived in his vinyl room!

Ribble’s in-house design & paint studio created DJ Spoony’s dream machine Ultra SL R using a bespoke Gold Flame, Black and Gold paint design. DJ Spoony’s logo features on the forks and headset top cap, with handwritten lyrics from one of his favourite songs on the inside of the seat stay.

“Cycling is all about the social aspect for me and this bike will be a talking point. I love the idea that when I check my bike over before every ride I’ll see the lyrics, the song always puts a big smile on my face and will help me get up the hills! I can’t wait to get this bike out onto the road – I know how fast they are and how stunning they look, but this bike takes it up a gear (no pun intended).” DJ Spoony (Johnathan Joseph BEM)

Johnathan has been riding Ribble for the past year after first seeing the Ultra following a stage appearance at a bicycle show. He is passionate about cycling for physical and mental health and is looking at creating an open-to-all cycling social ride with Ribble to promote well-being, health and happiness. Equipped with Shimano DuraAce Di2, Fizik Arione saddle the Ultra is finished with a custom set of Mavic wheels.

DJ Spoony has curated a Ribble X Spoony playlist inspired by the Ribble Ultra SL R and designed to get you cycling…  DJ Spoony x Ribble Playlist
