Q: What is the best thing for you being in such a strong ambitious team?
Harrison: It motivates me to always be improving as the past riders before me have all had great success in making a career out of cycling. Also, it helps having such good management that is just as motivated to get results as the riders.

Q: After a long winter, are you hungry for racing or happy to wait until its warmer!
Harrison: Good weather or bad weather, BRING IT ON!

Q: Does the success of the team in helping riders move on in the sport to pro teams motivate you during the tough days of winter training?
Harrison: It always helps when you’re doing long lonely miles by yourself that you know that you are being given the best opportunity there is to make career out cycling.

Q: Have you had a good winter on the bike and have you had to spend a lot of it indoors?
Harrison: Probably the only rider not on zwift so I try to be outdoors as much as possible. I’ve had some illness recently but still on track with my training and where I want to be. Mixing a lot of my winter with some track riding has also been beneficial.

Q: How was your 2023 season on the bike.
Harrison: Some good results all year round but often been painfully close to the big win. My best results were a stage win and 2nd overall at Spokes 2 day national, 2nd overall at Pembery 2 day national, 2nd in the Madison at national track championships and 3rd at the omnium track finals. Last year I raced for team cystic fibrosis race which allowed me to experience what it was like to work as a team through both under 16 seasons and was an all round great experience. Had great comradery in the team and hope for the same at Fensham.

Q: What was the best result/performance of yours in 2023.
Harrison: Tough to say but I think my best performance was at the Glasgow national track omnium qualifier round or the York national track omnium round. I remember that these races had a very good field and was chuffed to get the win. For road, I’d have to say my stage win at Spokes 2 day national where I managed to win solo which was great feeling to have when there was such a strong field.

Q: What race was the most fun to do in 2023.
Harrison: Has to be Otley town centre crit. To the course and the atmosphere, it’s just a great event. There’s always a huge crowd there and who doesn’t love a crit!

Q: Are you looking forward to racing abroad and if so, what makes that racing so exciting?
Harrison: There’s so many great opportunities in the next two years of racing abroad and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and learning as much as I can from these big races. There’s a lot of great variety in the calendar to racing in the Belgium lanes of Flanders’s to the high mountains of races like Valmorey.

Q: How do you find all the travel to races with many an hour on the road?
Harrison: I’ve been racing since I was 8 years old so I’ve grown up with it. I usually pass the time by listening to music, watching some Netflix or just scrolling on my phone. I’m sure my dad would love to answer this question as well!

Q: What was the toughest bike race you did in 2023.
Harrison: There has been a lot of hard races all year round but I’m probably gonna give a quite common answer in saying Scarborough. I just remember crossing the line and not being able to see straight.

Q: What are your goals for 2024.
Harrison: It’s been difficult to set a main goal just yet as I’m not sure how I will react to the step up to the junior ranks. Saying that, I would love to get a big result in one of the big UCI races like E3 or Flanders. I’d also like to get a good result in the UK and ride well at the track champs.

Q: Have you raced in 2024 yet and if not, when do you expect your first race to be?
Harrison: I find out this week if I’ll be riding Kurne Brussels Kurne at the end of Feb. If not I’ll be making my debut at Nokere or Eddie Soens in the UK.

Many thanks to Harrison and good luck for 2024!
