Team News: Finn Mason joins U23 Saint Piran Team

The Saint Piran USKIS under 23 team has signed  Scotland’s Finn Mason (British Junior Road Race Champion), marking what is considered by many as one of the most sought-after signatures in cycling among young UK-based riders. As the British National champion, Finn is expected to attract interest from notable teams including Jumbo Visma.

The team’s boss Ricci Pascoe says, “Finishing on the top step ahead of many quality riders is bound to attract interest. However, we see this as Finn’s first step. The Under 23 Elite team has been established to align professional values with performance. Essentially, we serve as a development setup to onboard young riders, allowing them to become familiar with UCI Continental teams. Why do this in-house? We’ve found that a training base for both riders and staff is crucial in understanding how cycle racing works, and the U23 category provides the perfect platform for this. Our U23 team boasts a stunning lineup, one that should pose a challenge to the UCI team in domestic races. I’ve been more than impressed with Finn’s off-the-bike aims and ambitions: a university education, a healthy balance with other interests, and a quality off-road career makes him a well-rounded individual, something required by all professional riders.”

Finn meanwhile says “I want to spend the next couple of seasons growing as a rider physically, tactically, and mentally. Along the way, I want to win some big races for myself and Saint Piran. The impact of the opportunity to race for Saint Piran could not be passed up; the knowledge, energy, and achievements of the team are admired far and wide. I hope to contribute to that reputation in any way I can.”
