Ben Marsh won a three up sprint at the end of an epic Junior Men’s CiCLE Classic when Jacob Bush (2nd) forced a break clear with 70 kilometres to go! which was joined by British CX champion Seb Grindley (3rd)

With special guests Laura Trott and Ed Clancy, both Olympic cycling heros, the top three in the Junior Men’s CiCLE Classic were (L-R) Jacob Bush, Ben Marsh and Seb Grindley

On a very cold and damp morning in Melton Mowbray, the Junior Men set off on their epic journey on the rural roads around Melton Mowbray

The race comes into Owston for the first time and it may look altogether but there were plenty of stragglers out the back of the main group showing how tough the parcour is for this race before they even hit a sector…

With a couple or riders just ahead, the first group of riders races through the watersplash at the bottom of the Somer… Berg. Shortly after this, Jacob Bush started the winning breakaway

Cheered on by team boss Giles Pidcock, Jacob Bush forces the pace in a two up with Ben Marsh behind him as they finish their laps in Owston (one to go at this point).

The chase group where we can see Seb Grindley (right of pic), who decided to bridge to the leaders on his own and did so!

So it was three leaders who came into Melton Mowbray with one lap of the finishing circuit to do lead here by Ben Marsh.

Nothing quite like a celebration like this from Ben Marsh who visually (and verbally) made it known how happy he was to win this race!

Ben chats to ace man on the mic Carl Lawrenson

And then gets to spray the bubbly about ;-)
