BRITISH WOMENS TEAM CUP – TEAM REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2023!

With a full list of agreed race dates for the British Team Cup with races from Twickenham to Halesowen as below, registration is now open for the 2023 season – see https://www.britishteamcup.co.uk/registered-teams for how to register.

– 23rd April Dave Peck Memorial at Virginia Water
– 21st May Banbury
– 9th July Inkberrow
– 30th July Duncan Murray Wines at Naseby
– August (date TBC) Will Houghton Memorial at Oakley
– 2nd September Halesowen

The organisers hope the 2022 winners, LAKA Pedal Mafia, will return to defend their title and keep the coveted British Team Cup for another year although 2nd placed Saint Piran have already registered with a new development team so we are sure to see some hard racing. With prize monies available for the first three teams at each race plus prize monies for at least the first 3 placed teams in the overall competition and then up to tenth place depending on the number of teams supporting the series, racing as part of a team and winning team points really do mean team prizes!

We are also thrilled to announce that Alice Lethbridge, already racing for Loughborough Lightning Cycling Team, is joining Lisa West on the Team Cup admin team this year. As a National Time Trial 12 hour record holder, a top class e-racer representing Great Britain again in the forthcoming UCI Esports World Championships and having competed in UCI road races and a World Tour, Alice has lots of knowledge to share about womens racing ….Alice is passionate about helping women to participate as well as lots of ideas about how we can help the riders develop their skills in a team environment by taking part in the this competition.

Jon Miles, who first “invented” this race series which facilitated the the development of many national treasures such as Lizzie Deignan, Sarah Storey, Helen Wyman to name a few, is retiring after 24 years. He would like to speak to anyone who would be interested in taking over his role.
