Youth Wightlink-Wight Mountain CRT member, Ewan Cook, travelled to Doncaster to compete in the RTTC National Youth Championship final for the G.H.S Trophy on Saturday, 11th September. Although the event was on the same day as the final stage of the Tour of Britain on the Isle of Wight, such is Ewan’s commitment to the sport, he didn’t hesitate to jump at the opportunity to race in the prestigious event.

The course for the Championship was flat and fast, and Ewan did well to maintain his power over the 10 mile circuit, averaging over 25mph. Despite being held up at the busy roundabout, Ewan dug in and crossed the line in 23.30 finishing in 25th place out of 52 riders.

Ewan says, ‘I was really excited when I got the invite to compete in the Championship final and I enjoyed the whole experience of racing against some of the top riders in my age group’.
