News: Ben Greenwood GB Coach

British Cycling can announce today that Ben Greenwood will take up the role of Men’s Podium Endurance Coach for the Great Britain Cycling Team, completing the podium track coaching team following the recent appointments of Sir Jason Kenny and Kaarle McCulloch.

A former rider on the Great Britain Cycling Team academy himself, since retiring from racing, Greenwood has risen through the coaching ranks and has spent the past three years as Men’s Endurance Academy Coach, supporting the development of many of Britain’s brightest prospects including Olympic gold medallist Matt Walls, omnium world champion Ethan Hayter and Tour de l’Avenir stage winner Ethan Vernon.

In addition to his omnium gold Walls also paired up with Hayter to secure silver in the men’s Madison in Tokyo, and Greenwood will now get to work plotting out the team’s path to Paris and LA, beginning with the UCI Track Nations Cup in Glasgow in April.

Ahead of today’s announcement, he said: “I’m delighted to move into the Podium Endurance Coach role and continue to play a part in the development of an incredibly talented crop of riders, supporting them to fulfil their ambitions in Paris and LA. Having progressed through the coaching development pathway and got to know and support so many of the riders over recent years, I’m really excited to take the next step on that journey.”
