News: Adam Kenway to race in Brother UK Colours
Adam Kenway will race this season in hill climbs and time-trials in the colours of Brother UK. The former British hill climb champion joins an impressive portfolio of teams, riders, races and neutral service providers sponsored by the Manchester-based technology business.
Phil Jones MBE, the Managing Director of Brother UK, said Kenway was a valuable addition to the company’s comprehensive sponsorship of elite British domestic road racing. “I’m delighted to continue our relationship with Adam Kenway, following the conclusion last year of Vitus Pro Cycling Team p/b Brother UK,” Jones said. “Adam embodies the values of Brother UK in his attitude, adaptability and desire for continuous development. Despite his hill climb victories and heroic breakaway performances at races like the Tour de Yorkshire, he remains highly motivated. Brother UK will be at his side as he strives for further success.”
Kenway, 33, was crowned national hill climb champion in 2016 and has finished on the podium at the British championships on a further four occasions. He claimed back-to-back victories in the hugely prestigious HMT Monsal Hill Climb in 2016 and 2017. For three years, Kenway was a member of Vitus Pro Cycling Team p/b Brother UK, a UCI Continental squad that concluded in 2020. He established a reputation with the team for committed performances, encapsulated by his courageous ride in the stage three breakaway at the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire.
This year, Kenway will focus on hill climbs and road bike time-trials. The latter is a comparatively new discipline, boosted by time-trialling’s popularity under lockdown. While many competitors turned to races against the clock in the absence of bunch racing, few wanted to incur the cost of a time-trial bike. “To race in the colours of Brother UK is a real honour, and I’m very grateful for the support of such a committed sponsor. I have first-hand experience of the value of the company’s At Your Side motto,” Kenway said.
“The hill climb will continue to be my primary focus, but road bike time-trials are very closely aligned to my love of breakaway efforts in mass start events. I hope to bring success to Brother UK in races against the clock of every type.”
Brother UK Cycling is a comprehensive sponsorship portfolio supported by Brother UK. The company’s cash investments in teams (Team Brother UK-OnForm, Team Brother UK-LDN, Crimson Performance-Orientation Marketing), riders (Adam Kenway, Rebecca Richardson), races (Tour of Britain, Tour Series, Women’s Tour) and neutral service support (Neutral Service p/b Brother UK) has proved invaluable to elite British domestic road racing.
Brother UK is also a key partner of VeloUK and what we do to serve the sport of cycling.
