Estrella Bikes are running a competition to help Shannon Kelly’s CRY Ireland (‘Cardiac Risk in the Young’) fundraising campaign with the prize of Ligero frameset on offer

Last year, Estrella Bikes ambassador and Irish triathlete, Shannon Kelly, was lucky enough to be signed by a French team to compete in the France national triathlon league. As part of the deal, she was sent for a full health screening by the team. There was, she thought, not much to worry about for a young, fit medical student, or so she thought.

Shannon’s heart screening showed a large clot on her heart which, left unchecked, would have most likely been fatal and there is no doubt that the screening saved her life. Now a year on, she’s back to full health and looking forward to the 2021 season, but first she wants to raise funds for CRY Ireland so more young athletes to get screened too. To stand out and raise awareness for the importance of heart screening, Shannon designed a rather striking paint job for her new Estrella Bikes bike, complete with the #hearthealth logo.

Estrella Bikes have also donated another frameset, in the same design, as the prize for her raffle.
