After seeing the area around Calpe for myself and the spectacular scenery, it is no wonder Cycling Holiday Spain is very busy with those looking to ride their bike

News: Training Holidays Nr Calpe
For cyclists of all levels and abilities. A bespoke training retreat with a home from home feel. “Outstanding. Its as simple as that!” - Cyclist magazine
Cycling Holiday Spain (CHS) is located right in the heart of the mountains inland from Calpe (on the coast) with access to the main climbs and having heard of two British legends of the sport moving to the area, it says a lot about how attractive it is to cyclists of all ages. No doubt the warmer weather has something to do with that!
CHS is located just 10 kilometres from Calpe where all the pros base themselves in the off season and even at this time of the year, I saw plenty from varying nations hammering away on the roads. Noze at Cycling Holiday Spain was visited recently by some members of the Element cycling team including Tommy McCormack, Nigel Modlinsky and Alastair Ribbons. It obviously did Tommy a world of good as he won his next race post training camp as did Nigel Modlinsky!
Tommy, who did 676km and 14,747 metres of climbing over seven days, said of Noze and the CHS… “training camp all done and ready for race season. Would like to thank CHS and it’s 5 star service as always. Jubi Nawras food was on point mate. Nozad Nawras facilities and ride support is outstanding. You guys go above and beyond every year. I simply cannot recommend you highly enough. Already looking at my next trip.
The new jacuzzi is popular ;-)
Whilst Noze is nearly full for his up-coming camps, there are a few spaces available throughout April and then CHS is running camps from the beginning of May to the 26th of May, There are also four weeks in June.
Whilst there are valley roads so riders don’t need to always climb the mountains, the area does have some impressive climbs, like the mighty Cat 1 Tudons Aitana and Val d’Ébo, 12km and 8 km climbs. And there is of course the ever famous Coll De Rates where I watched the Vitus Pro Cycling team powered by Brother UK time trial up the mountain and then head onwards for more miles without sampling the famous Apple Strudel at the top!

Top of the ‘Rates’ climb, a very popular one with cyclists in the area.
The climbing is only bettered by the long twisting descents …
Meal time!
The scenary is quite stunning – rugged mountains and charming villages all over the place.
