News: Aston on Clun RR

Entries are invited to the opening event of the West Midlands Road Race League, the Aston on Clun road race in Shropshire on March 31, open to second third and fourth category riders over 68 miles.

“It seemed important to me to have a round in March as that is when most riders want to start their seasons,” said organiser William Fotheringham of the Halesowen Cycling Club. “I’m keen to get local riders involved, so they will get priority entry if they can put forward a volunteer to help run the event.”

“One of the local clubs tried this circuit out at the end of 2017 with the final league event and it was voted a success as the circuit is rolling but not super hilly and the roads are pretty quiet because we are a fair way out of the West Midlands conurbation.”
