News: TLI Circuit in North Wales

TLI Cycling is pleased to announce that North Wales Police have sanctioned the use of a new 9 mile road circuit at Holt near Wrexham and it will be used for the first time for The Steve Jones Memorial Road Race on Sunday 21st May. The TLI Cycling National Road Race Championships for categories WJ/C/D/E/F/G/H are also to be held on the circuit on Sunday 20th August.

To get to this position has taken extensive collaborative effort by TLI Cycling and North Wales Police, and the Risk Assessment for the circuit, together with other safety requirements, has now been approved.

Under the amended ‘Cycle Racing on the Highway Regulations’, recently adopted in Wales (but not yet in England), any final decision regarding the use of this circuit resides with North Wales Police. TLI Cycling is therefore stressing that that all future events on this circuit must be promoted to its full organisational standards, ensuring full care and consideration for all other road users, and avoiding the dangers associated with over-use.
