Wheelbase adds another team to their roster for Juniors called Wheelbase Cabtech Junior RT

News: Junior Cycling Team – Wheelbase Cabtech

The cycling retailer Wheelbase which is well known for an Elite senior team doing the rounds of National Road race series now has a Junior Development Team. They are embarking on their first year on the junior road race circuit with a team that has been selected with the aim of developing talented first year juniors along with some experienced second year juniors.

“Our 2017 rider roster has a mix of quality to cover the diverse range of races on the 2017 UK junior calendar” the team says in a press release. “We have all out climbers, great all-round rouleurs, and crit specialists. After a very difficult selection process, we believe we have an extremely strong team for 2017.

The riders are:
1. Harry Hardcastle
2. Euan Cameron
3. Jack Ford
4. William Orrell-Turner
5. Matthew Shaw
6. Matthew Taylor

“All our riders are semi-professional with many guys balancing racing at the top level of the UK scene with full time education. All of our riders are either at Sixth Form College or completing there final years at high school. These guys know how to dig deep, find time to train, travel and recover. It is a huge commitment but we’re ready to attack our first season on the road with the aim to be one of the best junior teams in the country.”

The team’s directeur sportif will be former pro Tom Murray whilst the team management is Nigel Turner and Chris Taylor with Wheelbase providing professional mechanics to look after the bikes.

“Directur Sportif Tom Murray brings a wealth of exceptional talent and experience to the team. After numerous wins and podium positions at top-level race such as the Elite Circuit Series and Elite Road Series. Tom has also competed in the Tour of Britain numerous times riding for UCI teams such as Sigma Sport, Candi TV, and Plowman Craven”.

They have put the work in over the winter months of 2016 to ensure the team has the best set up possible in order for the rider succeed and compete with the best juniors in the country.”

The riders will be racing Cannondale Super Six Evo Ultegra, which has already been voted Best Bike in the World, twice. As well as Wheelbase and Cabtech Bespoke Interiors, the riders will also benefit from the best cycling clothing thanks to Ken Jones at Bioracer.
