The sixth races of this year’s North Midlands Road Race League featured Groups B & C using the Serlby circuit for the second time.
Results: North Midlands RRL
(thanks John)
The Group B race stayed pretty much together until 2 laps to go when Jack Rowland (Harworth & District CC) & Adam Lathbury (Rutland CC) opened up a 20 second lead over the rest of the field.
However, at the bell, it was the turn of Robert Fowler (Rutland CC) who held a small advantage. The bunch sprint was easily won by Rowland with Marc Hughes (Common Lane Occasionals) taking 2nd place, just ahead of Rob Blackburn (TLI) & Steve bunting (Rutland CC).
Rowland’s 3rd win means his advantage in the Group B Overall Standings is such that a top 3 placing in the next Group B race will give him an unassailable lead. Bunting & Blackburn moved into 2nd & 3rd places respectively, but with 4 other riders within 7 points.
Group B:
1. JACK ROWLAND S HARWORTH & DISTRICT CC 26.5 miles in 1hr 06mins 07secs

The Group C race followed a similar pattern as that of Group B, until 2 laps to go when John Catley (Barnsley Road Club) & Dan Moore (Broomwagon RT) held a 15 second advantage over the bunch.
At the bell, Catley continued his effort on his own with the gap increasing to over 20 seconds. At the finish, Catley took a well deserved win with Ross Limbert (BBM Revolution) winning the bunch sprint ahead of Mark Barnard (Out of the Saddle CC) & Chico Taylor (Rutland CC).
Barnard retains his lead in the Group C Overall Standings, with Catley & Limbert moving into 2nd & 3rd places respectively.
