First win for Neil Hughes, Velo Schils – Interbike RT
The appalling weather of the previous 24 hours combined with the ensuing traffic chaos led to a much reduced field of 21 riders. The rain eased off just in time and, amazingly, the race was run without a drop of rain. It was an attacking, fast race, with apparently the fastest average speed so far of the series.

Despite a flurry of attacks the bunch was together to contest the first prime after 3 laps, convincingly taken by serial prime winner, Ryan Savage (Crest CC). Neil Hughes (Velo Schils – Interbike RT) made a solo break on the second prime lap, staying away to take the prime before waiting for the bunch). Despite further attacks, with all clubs represented at various times, the inevitable bunch sprint occurred. Hughes took a convincing win from Savage with Dave Lindsay (Gateway CC) taking 3rd.
