Edmund Bradbury (NFTO) – in the break today on stage 2 of the Tour of Yorkshire

“Tom our DS told us we HAD to be in the break today and I made the second move (his teammate ‘Hank’ made the first) in the first K after kilometre zero. The first five or six K were full gas and then we got a time check of 30 seconds and it settled down a bit.”

It was the first time Edmund had been in a break with riders outside of the British pro racing scene, and he admits he was really happy to be out there despite the lack of TV coverage! “It is a very different experience in these races where everything is more controlled and smooth.”

Edmund then explained how a Cofidis rider closed the gap solo to them with 60k to go and that picked up the pace in the break before adding how it was good to see that teams and riders from the British scene can mix it up with them and that they can do their sponsors proud and get on TV.

“There was huge support out there for NFTO today. We have a Yorkshire link and it was just a fantastic experience all day where through every town it seemed they were all full of people there to watch us. It was just brilliant and amazing. I’m this is just a stepping stone for me in my cycling career.”
