With no national trophy this weekend, the riders in the Hargroves Cycles-Ridely colours, took to their local leagues. Steve James won in the Wessex league, winning by over two minutes and showing that he is definitely ready for the National Trophy in Durham this coming weekend!

Also at the Wessex League, Crispin Doyle took victory in the Vets and Steve Davies in the Vet 50 races both continuing their improvement in form and ready to challenge for podiums in Durham. Youngster Harry Yates competed at the inter regional championships and after a problem early race, he managed to maintain his composure and climb back up to 7th.

This coming weekend brings Round 3 of the Cyclo-Cross national trophy. It will be a long trip up from the south for most of our riders but for good reason as the team currently lead two of the series. Both Ben Tulett and Ian Field have carried the Under 14 and Elite leaders jerseys from Round 2.

Ben will be looking to maintain his 100% record while Ian will be competing in Belgium at Asper-Gavere. However the team currently has the top four places in the series so either Steve James or Jody Crawforth could take the leaders jersey by the end of the weekend. Also competing in Durham will be Matt Hargroves, Steve Davies, Crispin Doyle, Harry Yates and Andy Hargroves.

Tom Van den bosch will be riding with Ian Field in Asper-Gavere. Both riders will be looking to do well on a difficult course that includes steep drops and a long climb towards the end of the lap making it one of the classic races of the season.
