Top British men’s line up for the Ryedale Grand Prix this Sunday in North Yorkshire

After a cracking race on Sunday at the Velo29 Altura Stockton GP Road Race, this weekend sees another National Series road race for Elite Men with all the top teams entered. Wearing number is An Post rider Kieran Frend with the rider who was third on Sunday, Russell Hampton (Athlonsport), wearing number three which just happened to be where he finished when the British RR Champs were held on the course!

All five of the top British teams; Raleigh, NFTO, Rapha Condor JLT, Velosure Giordana and Madison Genesis all have strong line ups ready to tackle the 93 mile road race on the roads used for the British Championships a few years ago but there are just as many other teams ready to take the race to them. Teams like Metaltek Kuota and KTM who both had great results at Stockton and Pedal Heaven who had such an impact on the race.

Favourite will be Russell Downing. He’s had such great success in this area, winning the British title in 2005 and going on to winning the Ryedale in 2009 as well as being second in in 2007. He was also on fire at Stockton last weekend! There are however multiple riders from most of the top teams who could get in the way of that victory so an open and exciting uncontrolled race is in the offing. VeloUK will be there, just hope the phone signal is better than it has been which is pretty much none!
