First report
Tom Moses won solo the 10th Anniversary CiCLE Classic with a fine attack six kilometres from the finish.

The race saw the riders race the first hour at 28mph average with non stop attacking and soon a seven man group got away. Tom Scully (Madison Genesis), put them in the gutter for a kilometre and caused a split and it wasn’t until the final miles that they were caught.

The seven riders that included Yanto Barker (Raleigh), Tom Moses (Rapha Condor JLT), Tom Scully (Madison Genesis), Shane Archbold (An Post), James McCallum (NFTO) plus two visitors. Marcin Bialoblocki then chased solo and caught them to make eight leaders. A KTM rider was also in the break but dissapeared backwards later.

They then dominated the race and it wasn’t until the final quarter of the race that riders started to get across. GB were doing the chasing and brought the leaders back to a minute and that pace saw the peloton split into three groups.

From the first chase group, two Dutch riders caught the leaders and then another three including McNally, House and Oliphant. Yanto Barker went off the front after Sawgate with a lap to go and just as his teammate joined the leaders, Barker punctured his front wheel.

McNally then made his move and Moses went with him, put the hammer down and distanced the Liverpool rider from AN Post. Six k of tailwind riding remained and Moses kept the pressure on all the way to the line to win by ten seconds.

James McCallum came across the line fourth with teammates Downing and Blythe next to give them the team prize. Moses also won the King of the Hills award.

Finishing circuit and the break is still away as it enters the finish area for the first time and behind there are lots of splits as the chase goes on.

Then riders such as House and Oliphant caught the move but McNally, who had an armchair ride to the break didn’t waste time attacking.

Moses went with him but his power on the pedals saw McNally distanced.

With Moses leading by only seconds, Scully and McNally chase in tandem but were unable to bring him back.
