News – Women Snacking on Nairns at Womens Tour

The Women’s Tour, between 7th and 11th May, will be the first ever international level stage race in Britain, replicating the success and excitement of the men’s Tour of Britain but for women’s sport.

Lucy White, Head of Marketing at Nairn’s Oatcakes, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be supporting the inaugural Women’s Tour; helping to put women’s cycling firmly on the map. With endurance sports, such as cycling, getting the right fuel for a race is incredibly important; we have been told by many elite sports people that they rely on our delicious oatcakes to keep them going. The slow release energy from our oats make Nairn’s Oatcakes the perfect pre, during or post ride snack – teaming up with The Women’s Tour therefore seemed like the perfect partnership!

“But it’s not just the riders who’ll be benefiting from an oaty treat; we’ll be helping to keep the all important support teams and spectators full of slow release energy too! Throughout the Tour, our Nairn’s sampling crew will be on hand with oatcakes and a variety of delicious, healthy toppings as well as samples of our brand new Muesli Breaks – delicious oatcakes loaded with wholesome wholegrain Scottish oats, currants, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds.”

In addition to branding and advertising rights across The Women’s Tour, Nairn’s will be activating their partnership with Britain’s biggest women’s cycling race by supplying products directly to all of the teams and riders competing, and engaging with spectators via promotional zones at stage venues.

The Women’s Tour will take place over five stages between Wednesday 7th and Sunday 11th May, beginning in Northamptonshire with an opening stage from Oundle to Northampton.

Leicestershire, Bedfordshire, Essex and Hertfordshire will all host subsequent stages in the event, before the final stage finish in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, with highlights of every stage shown on ITV4.
