James McCallum who became a father to a baby daughter recently, Callum Skinner, Ross Edgar, Evan Oliphant, John Paul, Charline Joiner and Kayleigh Brogan will be among the Scottish riders competing at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome later this month.

Revolution Series first visited Glasgow in February, when McCallum and Rapha Condor JLT team-mate Ed Clancy sealed Elite Championship victory in the final race of the Series. McCallum said: “Winning the Revolution Series last season in front of a Scottish crowd was one of the highlights of my career.”

“The fans really pushed us on and I’m sure it’ll be the same at Round 2. It’s a chance for Scottish cycling fans to get behind the team and see some world-class track racing before the Commonwealth Games.”

A blend of endurance and sprint racing will unfold across two sessions (1pm-4pm and 7pm-10pm) with Elite Championship, UCI qualification and HOY Future Stars points on offer. A strong line-up of international riders will also compete while Team Sky, Madison-Genesis, Rudy Project RT and title holders Rapha Condor JLT will do battle in the Elite Championship.

Councillor Archie Graham, Chair of Glasgow Life, said: “The Revolution Series is a fantastic opportunity for the people of Glasgow and Scotland to watch world-class cyclists compete at the £113 million Emirates Arena. I hope the home crowd comes out in droves to support the strong Scottish team.”

Meanwhile, Olympic hero Sir Chris Hoy will be in Glasgow for Revolution Series Round 2 to see the HOY Future Stars in action. The Telegraph All Stars currently lead the Elite Championship after Round 1.

Please note: A free shuttle bus service to Glasgow city centre (Buchanan Street station) will operate from the Emirates Arena after the evening session.
