First year junior Matt Gibson was an excellent 5th in the Junior Men’s World Time Trial Championship on Tuesday in Italy
The European silver medallist Igor Decreane moved up a place in the Worlds stoping the clock at 26’56â€, racing at an average of 48,5 km/h. Second place for the 2012 European champion Danish Mathias Krigbaum (DEN) at 8’’ with Zeke Mostov (USA) in third at 20â€. Britain’s Matt Gibson was in 5th, just 10 seconds off a medal.

After taking the gold in the Team Time Trials, Ellen Van Dijk claimed victory in the Elite Women’s Individual time trial, covering the 22km of the course in 27’48â€. The Dutch rider stopped the clock 24†faster than Linda Villumsen (NZL), leaving the American Carmen Small third at 28â€.
Great Britain did not enter a female rider in the event.
