On an evening of lighter wind and a little more warmth an increased field got under way for an hour plus a lap which in the end produced 16 laps, two more than last week. As the three groups settled down the calm was disturbed when junior women Keira McVitty Buzz Cycles and first time visitor James Gelsthorre Bourne Wheelers opened up a 40 second gap over the 4th Cat group.

Meanwhile the second cats were slowly closing the gap on the 3rd cat group who they had given a 2min15secs lead. It took 40 mins of hard racing for the second cats to close on the third cats who in turn had closed a two minute gap on the fourth cats. Meanwhile up front Keira had given best to the strength of James who was the last rider to be caught.

Attacks came thick and fast during the last third of the race, most notably fro Jamie Scott MG Maxifuel last weeks winner and looking to have recovered from a hard ride in the previous weekends Lincoln GP. All attacks came to nothing and it was left to Ryan Henry to lead out the sprint only to see the younger legs of Kristian Woolf VC Prestige come flying by to take a convincing win.

The speed of the finishing sprint caused the judges a few headaches, but with the help of mixers technology and the riders help the chief judge got a result sorted out. Special mention to first time ever road racer Wayne Tiannah St.Neots CC who rode strongly to finish third. One to watch in the future.
