In very testing conditions the Liverpool Heat of the GHS Time Trial Championship took place at Waters Upton, Shropshire promoted by Dave Mellor for the Mid Shropshire Wheelers alongside the Clubs Open 10 Mile Time Trial.

15 yr old Sam Turton of Liverpool Mercury was a convincing winner of the GHS Heat and goes forward to the Newbury final later in the year alongside winning girl Beth Coupland of Mid Shropshire Wheelers with 7 other young Mid Shropshire Wheelers who won their age categories and the team prize.
In the Mids Open 10 it was local fast man Andy Bason of Team Pedal Revolution who is building back up to fitness after ill health kept him out of the National 25 Mile Championship, who took the win in 21:36 to deny victory to Telford man Steve York with 21:55. Winning the Women’s section was Jenny York in 26:20.
