Results: Hemel Hempstead CC 10

Steve Golla wins the Hemel Hempstead CC 10 mile time trial on the F12/10 course (Leighton Buzzard by-pass) with three seconds separating the top three riders!

Organiser Paul Thomson writes … Conditions were a little breezy with a tailwind out on the slightly longer outward leg, but overall times were quite quick for the course regulars, with a number recording better times than in any event on the course in recent years.

Typically, this course is about a minute slower than the fastest in similar conditions and this is fairly well represented in much of the results. However 3rd placed Andrew Hastings did record a PB by almost 50 seconds and a few others did similar improvements. A very close finish for the top three with them separated by just a second each.

The women’s result was also relatively close with the top two just 11 seconds apart and third another 18 seconds down all doing good times. The tandem winners were, as expected, but both also rode the solo event afterwards – showing just how closely matched they are as both recorded the same turn time on their own and finished just 14 seconds apart at the finish.

The team winners was almost a forgone conclusion before the start and the expected win was duly taken by Team Milton Keynes in 1:4:01, made up of brothers Luke and Ross Clarke, with VTTA committee member Geoff Perry the 3rd counter.
